Description

There are a lot of potent antioxidants you can take to combat free radicals and slow the aging process. You may already be taking Vitamins C or E, aplha lipoic acid, N-acetyl cysteine, grape seed, NADH, or some other antioxidant. But none of these are more powerful than what's inside olive fruit extract.
Better than Olive Oil
Olive oil is getting a lot of good press lately (no pun intended), and deservedly so. It contains over 30 phenolic compounds, most important of which is hydroxytyrosol--one of the most powerful antioxidants ever measured. In fact, hydroxytyrosol has an ORAC value of 27,000---which is about 10X greater than Vitamin C. What is ORAC? It is the abbreviation for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, a scientific measure of a substance's antioxidant power. As rich as olive oil is in phenolic compounds, olive fruit juice is even richer---150 times richer in fact. A little known truth is that olives contain 15-20% oil and more than 50% juice. When they're pressed to yield oil, the leftover juice is usually discarded. What a waste! But not anymore as olive fruit juice extracts are now available in dietary supplement form. They're and excellent source of olive polyphenols, including hydroxytyrosol, and they don't contain the fat and high calories found in olive oil. It's all the good without the bad.
Better than Olive Leaf
Don't confuse olive fruit for olive leaf . Olive leaf extracts are among the best-selling herbal supplements. Many are standardized to oleuropein, which is natural precursor to hydroxytyrosol. But because of the large molecular size of oleuropein, it may not be as easily absorbed into the bloodstream as would a direct source of hydroxytyrosol. That's why olive fruit extract, with its higher hydroxytyrosol potency, may be a more effective choice.
